This beautiful lady touched me, and I am thrilled (and actually surprised) that she is allowing me to share both her story and her pictures. If you are viewing this at work, be warned, as there is nudity.
This woman survived three major strokes this past summer. The problem was actually her heart, and in July, she had open heart surgery. Since that time, she has been recovering and making giant strides. She has recently returned back to work, though she still has to concentrate on her speech and sometimes cannot recall the words she wants to use, but still – three strokes, it’s impressive. But along with open heart surgery, she bears the large scar of her journey down her chest. It is a large scar, and understandably, it has made her feel less attractive. This session was to show (mostly for herself) that she is still beautiful – scars and all.
As I edited these pictures, I realized that while there is a scar running down her sternum, it is not where my eyes are drawn. She is much more than that small line. She is a survivor. Kudos to her!
